Santiago City Tour & Flight to Buenos Aires
Arrival in Santiago de Chile and a half-day city tour: Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins (Alameda), Plaza Italia, Santa Lucía Hill, the Central Market, La Moneda Presidential Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Forestal Park and the National Museum of Fine Arts, with panoramic views from San Cristóbal Hill. We then tour the modern "Sanhattan" financial district across Las Condes, Providencia and Vitacura. Afternoon transfer to the airport and flight to Buenos Aires, where our driver/guide will meet you for the transfer to your hotel.

9:30 AM — South City Tour exploring 9 de Julio Avenue and the Obelisk, Plaza de Mayo with the Cathedral, the Government House (Casa Rosada) and the old Cabildo. We continue through San Telmo with its antique shops and Sunday market in Dorrego Square, then on to La Boca to walk the legendary Caminito street, ending in the modern Puerto Madero waterfront. 7:00 PM — Tango Show with dinner at one of Buenos Aires' iconic tango houses, with round-trip transfers (return to hotel at 11:30 PM).

9:30 AM — North City Tour through Retiro, Palermo and Recoleta: expansive green spaces, French-style mansions reflecting the early 20th-century splendor of Buenos Aires, the Palermo Woods, the elegant Recoleta neighborhood and the historic Church of El Pilar (1732), funded by Aragonese patron Juan de Narbona. Second half of the day: free time / optional activities (TBD).

Country Day Trip with Argentine Barbecue
A full day on a traditional ranch in the Argentine Pampas. Welcome drinks and some of the best empanadas in the world served by the gauchos, followed by an authentic Argentine barbecue (asado) for lunch. The day ends with a horse-training demonstration showcasing the unique bond between gaucho and horse — a true "horse whispering" experience.

Flight to El Calafate, gateway to Los Glaciares National Park on the shores of Lake Argentino. 9:00 AM — Full-day excursion to the legendary Perito Moreno Glacier with viewing walkways, followed by the Boat Safari departing from "Bajo de las Sombras" port. The one-hour navigation on Lake Rico brings you face-to-face with the towering ice walls and continuous ice falls, with the boat stopping in front of the glacier wall for unforgettable photos and video.

El Calafate — Full-Day Glacier Navigation
7:30 AM — Transfer to Punta Bandera Port; boarding at 8:30 AM and departure at 9:00 AM after a safety briefing. We sail the North Arm of Lake Argentino to the Upsala Channel and its dramatic ice barrier, with panoramic views of the Upsala Glacier. Continuing through the Spegazzini Channel we see the Seco Glacier before arriving at the foot of the Spegazzini Glacier — the tallest in the National Park. Disembarkation at Los Glaciares Bay for approximately 2 hours with breathtaking views of the Spegazzini, Peineta and Heim Sur Glaciers. Return to Punta Bandera around 4:00 – 5:00 PM. *Itinerary may be modified based on weather and the captain's discretion.

Day Trip to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay
Transfer to the ferry terminal in Buenos Aires for a one-hour ferry ride to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. Founded by the Portuguese in 1680 and finally ceded to Spain under the Treaty of San Ildefonso, the Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guided walking tour of Santa Rita and San Gabriel streets, the main church, Camino de San Pedro, the Bastion of Carmen, the famous "Street of Sighs," the Puerta del Campo and Plaza Mayor 25 de Mayo, with views of the Uruguay River, the cathedral, the lighthouse and the nearby Real de San Carlos Bullring. Free time for lunch (not included) before returning to Buenos Aires by ferry.

Yes — a valid passport is required, and it must be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. We send a pre-trip guide with full documentation requirements so nothing catches you off guard.
Is the $500 deposit refundable?+
Your deposit is refundable up to 90 days before departure. After that, it converts to a trip credit you can apply to any future Hyak Travel departure within 12 months.
Can I pay in installments?+
Absolutely. After your deposit, the balance is split into automatic monthly installments. The final payment is due 60 days before departure — no hidden fees, ever.
Are flights included?+
Yes — international flights from the listed departure city, plus all in-country transfers, are included unless noted otherwise on this page.
Can I book my own flight?+
Yes, you may opt out of the included flight and receive a credit toward the land-only portion of the trip. Just let us know when you reserve.
Is travel insurance included?+
Travel insurance is not included, but we strongly recommend it. We are happy to share trusted providers and coverage options tailored to your trip.
